The Lord brings Joy in times of adversity

Today’s word comes from the book of  Jeremiah chapter 40.The Babylonian released Jeremiah from bondage, and was kind to him and allowed him to decided what he wants to do with his life. The Babylonian knew and recognized the God of Jeremiah though they didn’t follow in his ways, they knew all that Jeremiah prophesied about. Gedaliah was allowed to govern Judah and Jeremiah dwelt with him among the poorest people who were not taken captive. They were to obey the king of Babylon and they were to enjoy all the wine and the oils that was really available. All the Jews that were in another countries returned to Judah to enjoy the plenty that the land had to offer. Johanan and other captain tried to tell Gedaliah  that Ishmael had been sent by the Ammonite king to kill him but he did not believe them.

As Christians do we know that the world knows that our Lord is mighty and that’s why the world fight the Lord’s word? Do we know that it is not  the Lord who departs from us but we depart from Him and His glory? In times of adversity the Lord is always present to give us joy and peace? The Lord has plenty to offer us only if obey his word.

The Lord will always keep his promise and He always brings joy and peace to us when we accept to obey His word.
